![]() Hi! Kesha here with New World Tarot, and I want to thank you for joining me today for another blog! I hope you are doing well this spring! We are heating up and moving forward swiftly! We are actually entering the later stages of spring. It’s hard to believe, but in a couple weeks we will officially be entering summer! Wow, that went by fast! Hopefully you’ve been outside enjoying the milder warmth, because it is soon going to get HOT as out little planet keeps moving more and more towards the sun! This Monday, June 3rd, we welcome the New Moon into our lives once again! This time, the New Moon arrives in the sign of Gemini. Now, the New Moon is beginning of the moon cycle. This is when the moon cycle starts anew, with the Dark Moon representing the pure potential of the moon’s growth and the New Moon being the very first sprouting seed of that growth. The New Moon is an energetically powerful time to re-focus and re-dedicate yourself and your energies to your goals, desires and to healthy habits. This New Moon , as we stated, is in the sign of Gemini. The sign of Gemini is symbolized by the Twins. Those who consider themselves Geminis (Sun-sign Geminis) are people who are born roughly between the days of May 21st to June 20th. Gemini is a fun sign! Gemini, much like their symbol of the Twins, is all about communication, expression and social activities. The butterfly is an animal associated with Gemini, simply because it is light, airy and constantly flitting from flower to flower, much like a person born under Gemini is known to flit from person to person, party to party, lover to lover. In fact, Geminis are often known to be social butterflies. Gemini has an exciting energy, and Geminis in general are known for being the life of the party. They are charming individuals that are good with words. Gemini is ruled by the element of Air. The element of Air is all about mental energies: thinking, rationalizing, deducting, and concluding. Air is about ideas and innovation. It’s about the sciences and philosophical questions and deep ponderings of life. Gemini, however, is the Air sign that is most associated with communication, speaking and expression of ideas and thoughts. In fact, the chakra – or the traditional energy center – that is most associated with Gemini is the throat chakra. This is the part of your body located in, of course, your throat. Your throat chakra is responsible for self-expression, for communication and for speaking your truth. This is a very important and powerful energy center that can do a great deal of benefit and healing to your body and your life, or can be a destructive weapon that harms others and yourself. This New Moon in Gemini, we are exploring the amazing power of our words to build, create, heal and also to destroy, harm and create chaos. When we look back at the long litany of our folklore and myths, and our spiritual and religious traditions, we see time and time again the word (both spoken aloud and written). As children, if you absorbed as many fairytales as I have either through reading or having them read to you, you know that there were countless tales in which a spoken incantation changed the trajectory of the story. Evil queens and villainous witches and warlocks would often recite aloud an incantation to create a curse. Alternatively, the princess or prince or hero or heroine would often recite aloud an incantation to give them great power, often transforming them into something greater, stronger and more powerful than they were before. Though these tales are now relegated to the area of childhood entertainment, they were began as allegories and tales for adults, rich with evocative imagery and themes to make a point and teach a lesson. The power of words, from the earliest times, predates the time of the written alphabet. This is a wise truth that became evident from the earliest times of prehistory and is still very much a truth to this day. When we look at our spiritual and religious practices today, thousands and thousands of years later in the very modern world, we see that the power of the word is no fairy tale, but is in fact a potent, powerful tool for creation, power and destruction. Every great spiritual teacher will tell you the importance of watching what you say. Words are like swords (even the letters are the same!), and as such they can be incredible tools towards victory when used deliberately with intention, or can cut or even destroy you when wielded irresponsibly. The spoken and the written word are the simplest and most straightforward type of spellcraft, prayers, mantras, hymns, petitions and novenas. Every religious and spiritual path includes powerful texts for recitation to invoke any and every desirable outcome. It is understood that if you desire change and transformation – whether that be healing, knowledge, desire for wealth, desire for love – speaking words of power is a potent way to bring about your desired change in your life. The throat chakra resides in an interesting place in your body. It is housed right between the head and the heart. In many ways, the throat is a pathway from the mind (where thoughts originate and analyzing and deciding occurs) to the heart, where deep belief occurs. Your heart chakra is arguably the most powerful chakra in your body, though it cannot do its power all alone. It needs support from the other chakras. Your throat chakra is a vitally important energy gate that lets your heart chakra do its work. And the throat chakra’s currency is words. In order to really understand how powerful words are, I want to talk about two very important earthly manifesting energies: belief and expectation. Belief is what you know to be true. Expectation is what you know will manifest. When you believe with all your heart, and expect with all your heart, the rest of the world will rearrange itself to fit your belief and expectation. People, situations and yes even material matter will arrange and re-arrange in your life to bring about your desires. It’s cosmic law. And one of the most powerful ways to create belief and instill expectation is through your words. Hell, even the government has caught on to this fact. Why do you think the pledge of allegiance is required to be recited aloud daily as a child? They understand the correlation between speaking words, believing them to be true and having it become true. They understand that you speaking the words of allegiance is likely to actually make you so in time. Now, there is more than one way to view what is happening here. We have just spoken about an energetic way to see how our words have manifesting power, through the chakras. However, mainstream psychology can also show this same thing, when we view it through the lens of the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is the part of your mind that is responsible for reasoning and analytical thought. It is very small and very new in evolutionary terms. This is the part of your mind that weighs things and decides what is true, what is wanted and what is good. You are not born with your conscious mind. It develops after several years of human growth. Your subconscious mind, on the other hand, is the part of your brain that is responsible for everything else. It is the oldest part of your brain in evolutionary terms. You are born with a subconscious mind. This part of your mind houses your deepest desires, your deepest fears and all of the programming and ability in your entire body, including things that are not yet understood by mainstream science. The heart beat that keeps you alive? Subconscious mind. The hormones that automatically blend and turn on and off to grow your body, produce your menstrual cycle, breastmilk, masculine beard and growth? Subconscious mind. Your dreams and nightmares? Subconscious mind. Your intuition and psychic ability? Subconscious mind. And what is the relationship between the two? Your conscious mind, as small and new as it is, is the boss of your subconscious mind. In essence, you have your small analytical part of your brain commanding the vast and immense army of your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind is the boss, but your subconscious mind is the might and the force by which all things can be done and all gates opened to you. When you speak words, especially with repetition, they can sow the seeds of belief and expectation deep into your subconscious mind, thus allowing your subconscious mind to grow and Ok, chakras and mind compartments are two different ways to understand the same things: your words have immense power to unlock your human potential. The magical ability of speaking things into existence is actually something that you do quite a lot. Unfortunately it is often done in ignorance, giving power and prominence to your negative and destructive words. For example, how often do you say things that put yourself down? How often do you say things that you don’t want to be true, either because being self-deprecating paints you as non-threatening and likeable to others, OR simply because that’s what you have been comfortable saying your whole life? Do you find yourself saying things like the following or a variation of the following: “I’m so stupid!” “Oh of course; I’m such a dumbass!” “Things never work out for me.” “Of course things aren’t going well for me. That’s the story of my life.” “I can’t find love.” “All the good men are taken.” “All the good women are taken.” “I can’t find a good job to save my life.” “I’m soo fat/ugly/dumb/unlucky/fill-in-the-blank.” Now, it doesn’t matter if these things are spoken in jest, or simply because you want to fit it. Spiritual and even psychological wisdom tells us that when we repeat things repeatedly, they begin to take root in our hearts as belief. And when that happens, we can start to expect things to actually be true. And when that happens, we can see these things manifest in our reality. So…are you manifesting unwanted outcomes with your words? Now is the time to stop that and start manifesting what you want, what you crave and what you desire with your whole heart! This New Moon in Gemini, I want you to become conscious of the words you use and their role in creating your reality. Are you speaking harmful words that paint a picture that is unwanted? Or are you using words that are crafting your ideal future? Your words are power. Now is the time to harness them for victory, happiness, wealth, joy and love. From this moment on, at LEAST for the next 30 days, but hopefully for the rest of your life, I want you to monitor your words, especially the words that you say to yourself. Understand and respect the truth that what passes through your throat bridges the gap between your mind and your heart, and in other words bridges the gap between your conscious mind and your all-powerful subconscious mind. It is important to speak the truth of what you want to manifest. For at least the next 30 days but hopefully from now onwards, I want you to take the following steps when it comes to the power of your words.
“I am easily earning X amount of money per month.” “I am in a loving, romantic relationship.” “I am happy and healthy.” “I am a successful ___.” One thing you do NOT want to do is put emphasis on what you don’t want. Your subconscious mind and your heart are not the thinkers. They are the feelers, and only know that if you feed emphasis on something, regardless of whether you want it or not, you will become tied up in your beliefs. For example, if you are sick and want to be well, say the words, “I am perfect health,” or “I have perfect health.” DO NOT say, “I am not sick,” because by doing so you are still placing energetic emphasis on the word and concept of sickness and being sick. So that’s a no-no. So once you have your affirmative statement, repeat this to yourself frequently. State them to yourself in the morning and again before you go to bed. Ten times. Even better, if possible, recite them while looking yourself in the eye in the mirror. THIS will show you if you truly believe it or not. You may have a hard time holding your own gaze at first, but over time, you will find that you can say it to yourself with conviction, which means its taking root in your subconscious mind and your heart and you are starting to accept and believe it, which will cause you to expect it, which will cause you to see it manifested in reality. This is where action comes in. When you believe something- actually believe it – you will act in such a way to bring it to fruition. For example, if you are sick and you start to tell yourself, “I am perfect health,” and you become a believer of that statement, you will act in a way that mirrors your belief. You will make better health decisions, such as eating more fresh vegetables, getting up a few minutes early to do express workouts, etc. All of these things – your spoken words, your little actions to increase your beliefs, your little actions that come as a result of your increasing belief, and your expectations – will all work holistically to shift matter and create healing of your mind and body, resulting in health. So keep devoting yourself to speaking what you want to see. Do this for at least the next month. Keep it up, and you will see amazing changes in your life!
