Hi! Kesha here of New World Tarot! Thank you for joining me today for another blog!
I hope you had a great Summer Solstice and that you are getting out and enjoying your summer so far! It’s hard to believe we are already in July! This will probably be a shorter entry than most, as I need to prepare for a trip to Colorado! I’ve never been to Colorado, so I am definitely excited to take in some Western natural wonder, for sure! Whenever I end up in an astoundingly, majestically beautiful display of nature – whether that’s out West or a tropical island – I can’t help but think of a Tarot card, The Empress. The Empress is the card I most associate with nature and natural beauty, and I always want to just start an Instagram with a card against different pictures. I don’t know, that may come down the pipeline in one way or another, we shall see!
So we are once again at another New Moon! The New Moon is that part of the cycle that is all about new beginnings, new growth and re-committing to our goals and desires. This time, our New Moon arrives in the sign of Cancer. Cancer is certainly a sign that I am familiar with, as I myself am a Cancer! Cancer is symbolized by the Crab and ruled by the element of Water. Cancer is often depicted as a private, emotional and empathic sign. It is traditionally seen as the sign of domesticity, nurturers, and very sensitive, feeling individuals. The ruling planet of Cancer is…the Moon. To me, this only adds to the punch of power that either a New Moon in Cancer or a Full Moon in Cancer has.
The energy of Cancer is often a bit moody and changeable, just like the element of Water that runs through it like a wild and calm river. On one hand, Cancer is seen as being domestic and kind and emotional and nurturing, and on the other hand Cancer can be incredibly mean and emotionally manipulative and a bit unhinged.
This month, I want to really focus on Cancer’s connection to our emotions and feelings. And why are our emotions and feelings so important? Our emotions are some of our most powerful tools to bring about the changes that we desire.
I always like to talk about the two parts of our minds: the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is the smaller, more evolved part of your mind that does all of what you may classically consider “thinking.” This is the part of your mind that you were NOT born with. It acutally developed in your early childhood. It has all the countless thoughts: the decisions, the criticisms, the opinions, the judgements, the strategizing, the good thoughts, the bad thoughts, etc. However, there is an older, larger more powerful part of your brain that does a lot of work, often without being given any attention or credit, and that is your subconscious mind. This is the part of your mind that you were born with. It is very primitive, and is not “smart” per se, but it is extremely powerful. This includes your dreams (literal and figurative), your nightmares (literal and figurative), your fears, your hopes, your desires, your beliefs, your expectations and even every system in your body. You don’t have to remember to breathe thanks to your subconscious mind. You don’t have to remember to beat your heart because of your subconscious mind. You don’t have to remember to grow your hair or your fingernails or bring on your menstrual cycle because of your subconscious mind.
Though your subconscious mind is not as “smart” as the conscious mind, it is so much more powerful. Your subconscious mind holds your beliefs, which in turn shape your expectations, and studies are showing again and again that it is our thoughts, our beliefs and our expectations that shape our world and determine our success in life. Therefore, working with and through your subconscious mind is vital in learning how to manifest your goals well. And the language of the subconscious mind is not words, but pictures, images and…emotions. Feelings.
One way to know if you are on track to moving towards the goals you desire is through your feelings. When you are feeling good, it is because you are thinking good thoughts, which are sewing the seeds of the future you desire into your subconscious mind. When you are feeling bad, it is because you are thinking bad thoughts, which are also sewing the seeds of THAT future into your subconscious mind.
In this way, we can use our emotions as a gage to determine if we are on track to our desires and goals.
Have you heard of the practice of creative visualization? If you have heard of it - and it is becoming thankfully much more popular, so it is possible that you have – creative visualization is a practice that uses your imagination and your emotions to bring your goals from the world of potential to the physical world. The entire practice – in a nutshell – is to visualize having your desires in the present time, NOT in the future. When we dwell upon our desires being in the future, that tends to be where they stay. They are indeed materialized, but they are ALWAYS in the future. The problem with this is that we NEVER reside in the future. We only and can only reside in the present. And the most powerful way to bring your desires into the present is to FEEL as though they are happening RIGHT NOW. In fact, you could say that a shortcut to creative visualization is creative emotionalization, or just feeling as if you have what you want right now.
Emotions add energetic strength and power to your intentions and your manifestations.
When you are sitting next to a pond, for example, and smiling to yourself, your head full of happy and joyous thoughts of the future, the emotions you are putting out into the Universe are also happy and joyous. These thoughts, likewise, are working to create a happy and joyous future. When you are sitting by that same pond and crying and bawling your eyes out, your head is full of negative and destructive thoughts. These thoughts are in turn working to create a negative and destructive future.
So…which would you rather have? The choice is yours, and the decision is deceptively simple. Choose the feelings that feel good. Always. Understandably, this will be easier said than done a lot of the time. There is something about despair, fear, anger, destruction and negativity that can be so hard to pull away from. I get it, I feel it too. But it all starts with knowing what is good for you, and it will, over time, get easier to drop the bad thoughts and emotions and embrace the good ones.
This New Moon in Cancer is a great time to re-commit ourselves to checking into our emotions. And this is not just checking into our emotion for the sake of keeping track of them. This is checking into them for the purpose of harnessing them to manifest our goals and desires. Emotions, as it turns out, are not a feminine weakness, or any such foolishness that the modern world wants you to believe. They are powerful world builders, and world destroyers.
This New Moon in Cancer, re-commit to harnessing them, controlling them and using them as tools to serve you. Let’s explore some ways you can do that.
Hi! Kesha of New World Tarot here! Thank you very much for joining me today for another blog!

Even if it’s sitting outside on my deck, I am making sure I am outside, enjoying the gift of this warm months, at least a little bit most days. And you should too! Get out, take in the power and magic of Nature! It’s so good for your body, mind and soul! Ok? Good!

Alright! So, we have arrived at yet another full moon! This time, the full moon arrives in the sign of Sagittarius!
The Full Moon is a time of immense power! This is the part of the moon cycle where the moon’s orb and light waxes and builds and builds to its fullest power. This also marks the middle point where the moon is moving in one direction beforehand, and another direction after. The Full Moon is a great time to work with Nature’s feminine energies dialed up to 100!
As a result, I prefer this to be a time to work with the most unwieldy, hardest, strongest and most fearful shadow aspects of ourselves that are just…tough. You know, those energies and feelings and issues that trigger us, and that we don’t let out in the light of day, and that we are embarrassed of or that are just…tough.
Now, the astrological sign of Sagittarius is symbolized by the Archer and is ruled by the element of Fire. Sagittarius is known for its sense of adventure and its love of travel and excitement. Sagittarians love being engaged with life and are constantly seeking out new experiences. They are also among the most fortunate people in the zodiac as well. You know, if you need luck and can’t get your hands on a four-leaf clover, grab a Sagittarius instead!
Another aspect of Sagittarius? Of the three Fire signs in the zodiac – Aries, Leo and Sagittarius – Sagittarius is the only one with a quadruplicity of mutable. This means Sagittarius is the most flexible, fluid, changeable and adaptable of the three Fire signs. When life gets intense and rough, we can all benefit from tapping into mutable Fire.
When referred to in metaphysical and energetic terms, the element of Fire is, to me, all about our own sense of adventure, of action and of forcing our will upon our lives to make our lives what we want them to be. Fire, to me, is all about the spirit within us, inhabiting our bodies and making things happen. Your Fire is what keeps you going. It’s what drives you. It’s what keeps you going forward. It’s what keeps you wanting to grow and evolve and not give up. The third chakra – the solar plexus – is often traditionally seen as the home of your personal Fire – your courage, your fight, your self-esteem, your ambition and your desires. Your Fire is directly related to life and your enjoyment of it. When your Fire is diminished and lessened and dulled by others and by experiences, it creates a lack of direction and a lack of purpose. These in turn can pave the way for dangerous things like depression, ennui and self-hatred.
You have the immense power to create the life and the world around you that you want. Firstly and foremost, the power always lies with you. However, life can be incredibly challenging. There are countless twists and turns, and there is wonder and joy in life’s unexpectedness, but also fear, strife and struggle. I believe that we are all here for the adventure. But the shadow side of adventure is sometimes things happen that aren’t so fun. Sometimes there is very real pain and awfulness. On top of all that, we also share the planet with billions of fellow creators. Each person has the same ability to create and destroy that we do, and we have the additional challenge of trying to shape our lives amidst these billions of people trying to also shape theirs. The end result is a complex web and reverberation of Cause and Effect. Some effects we cause and can see coming. Other effects have been put into motion by other forces, and we may not see them coming. All together, our little boat can get beat up on the sea of life very badly. Life, as wonderful as it can be, can leave us scarred, scared, injured, bruised, bloody and burnt…and that’s just the physical! Ha! And yes, energetically, the injuries can be even more serious. It’s so important to tend your inner Fire and keep yourself energetically healthy, healed and strong.
Now, for just a moment, I’d like to talk about a Tarot card. The card I want to discuss is the Nine of Wands. I hopefully plan on having this card up on the screen for a moment so that you can really see it. This card, in the Rider Waite Smith deck, depicts a man, leaning heavily on a wand, with a fence of eight other wands behind him. And yeah, this poor guy! He looks in rough shape! He has a bandage on his head, and just has this look of, “What now??” Like he’s on edge, just waiting for something else bad to happen. This man, clearly, has lost his Fire, right? This is a man who has nothing else left, and is on his last legs? Yes?
Well, what would you say if I told you the Hermetic title for this card is The Lord of Great Strength? You make take a look at this man and shake your head. Well, it is! The Golden Dawn – the esoteric group that developed the RWS deck – called this card, the Nine of Wands, “The Lord of Great Strength.”
This is because your strength comes from within. Your Fire comes from within. No matter what happens to you, your Fire – your personal power, your fight, your energy, your light – does not come from outer circumstances, but from within you. Your Fire comes from your spirit. And your Fire cannot be quenched. YOU can choose to dull your light and place a proverbial bushel over your Fire, but the truth is your Fire is too big, too eternal, too hot and too wild to be extinguished by others.
The lesson of this card is that your Fire is your Source. In fact, that’s what your Fire IS: it’s your connection to Source. It’s the piece of you that God broke off from Herself or Herself and put inside of you. It’s immensely powerful, it’s eternal and immortal and cannot be touched affected or harmed by anything that you encounter on earth. Nothing on this planet is that strong. YOU are, however. YOU can choose to dull the heat, dull the drive, dull the fight and dull the courage to keep going. YOU can let outside sources convince you to turn down your own Fire. THIS is what happens when we get beat up by our physical world.
We become discouraged and mentally and emotionally make the decision to give up, give in and burn out. The Nine of Wands reminds us that no matter what the world throws at you, YOU have an eternal supply of Great Strength. YOU have an eternal cord that plugs from your soul directly into God, into the Universe, into the cosmos, and that cord of Fire within you is so great that there is no obstacle that cannot be removed, there is no sickness that cannot be eradicated, there is no pain that cannot be healed and no desire that cannot be manifested as long as choose to keep your Fire burning and not give up.
So how do we take care of ourselves when the going gets tough? I believe that the astrological correspondence for this card gives us a hint. Each Tarot card has an astrological correspondence, and the correspondence for the Nine of Wands is “the Moon in Sagittarius.” Hmmm! Wow, sound familiar? So we have the planet of the Moon appearing in the sign of Sagittarius. Let’s break this down.
The Moon is the planet of intuition, of our connection with Source. Working with the energies of the Moon is all about going within and going inward through stillness, silence, meditation and receptive contemplation. The sign of Sagittarius is again ruled by the element of Fire, and as such it’s about fight and strength and spirit. In short, to me, this is all about going within to become stronger. It’s about going within to grow your inner Fire bigger and brighter. Literally, as the old saying goes: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. When the world throws spears at you in life, pluck it out, say “Oh, look, wood!” and throw it on your personal Fire and watch that bitch burn! Remember this: All the darts, all the spears, all the weapons that come at you make excellent kindle wood to feed your Fire.
So this Full Moon in Sagittarius, let’s talk about 2 ways to defend yourself and build your Fire against the attacks of life.
Firstly, #1. Alone Time is Important. When you feel worn down, depleted and beat up by life, it is integral to be able to find time to be alone. Depending on your life, you may need help with this. For example, if you are a busy mom, you may need help with a partner, with friends, with family or even hiring someone for periods of time. During this time – at LEAST 15 minutes a day, but if it could be half an hour or an hour, even better – you want to go into silence, stillness or meditate. You can even spend this time journaling. It is important to schedule this time and use it to fortify yourself and feed your soul. You know you’ve done it correctly if you emerge from this time stronger, renewed and reinvigorated.
#2. Affirmations. Alright. I want you to state any of the following affirmations to yourself when you feel weak and worn down like our friend here, the Nine of Wands. In fact, I would love it if you would recite these words of truth to yourself, in a mirror, during the time of the Full Moon! Use the highly reflective and transformative power, and direct it towards your own victories in life. So you can state all of them – there are nine – or you can pick and choose what resonates with you at the moment. I am going to state each one, and feel free to say it with me or repeat right after me!
All the Strength I need is within me NOW.
All the Energy I need is within me NOW.
All the Power I desire is within me NOW.
All the Health I need is within me NOW.
All the Wisdom I need is within me NOW.
All the Success I desire is within me NOW.
All the Wealth I desire is within me NOW.
All the Peace I need is within me NOW.
All the Love I need is within me NOW.
EVERYTHING I need or could ever desire on this earth is within me NOW.
Repeat this 5-10 times, as needed, when you are feeling low. For extra potent power, try repeating it every day, 5-7 days a week, until the next Full Moon! If you are visual person, you can even take out a Nine of Wands RWS-based Tarot card, OR simply print an image of one from the internet and place it next to your computer or taped onto your mirror. Definitely try it if that sounds interesting to you.
So, no matter what, always remember your infinite connection to Source. Your Fire is immensely powerful and eternal. Even on your weakest day, your inner Fire can twist matter and bend reality. Never forget that you are a piece of God. Never forget where you come from. And never forget that you are a Lord – or a Lady – of Great Strength.
Hi! Kesha here with New World Tarot, and I want to thank you for joining me today for another blog!
I hope you are doing well this spring! We are heating up and moving forward swiftly! We are actually entering the later stages of spring. It’s hard to believe, but in a couple weeks we will officially be entering summer! Wow, that went by fast! Hopefully you’ve been outside enjoying the milder warmth, because it is soon going to get HOT as out little planet keeps moving more and more towards the sun!
This Monday, June 3rd, we welcome the New Moon into our lives once again! This time, the New Moon arrives in the sign of Gemini. Now, the New Moon is beginning of the moon cycle. This is when the moon cycle starts anew, with the Dark Moon representing the pure potential of the moon’s growth and the New Moon being the very first sprouting seed of that growth. The New Moon is an energetically powerful time to re-focus and re-dedicate yourself and your energies to your goals, desires and to healthy habits.
This New Moon , as we stated, is in the sign of Gemini. The sign of Gemini is symbolized by the Twins. Those who consider themselves Geminis (Sun-sign Geminis) are people who are born roughly between the days of May 21st to June 20th.
Gemini is a fun sign! Gemini, much like their symbol of the Twins, is all about communication, expression and social activities. The butterfly is an animal associated with Gemini, simply because it is light, airy and constantly flitting from flower to flower, much like a person born under Gemini is known to flit from person to person, party to party, lover to lover. In fact, Geminis are often known to be social butterflies. Gemini has an exciting energy, and Geminis in general are known for being the life of the party. They are charming individuals that are good with words.
Gemini is ruled by the element of Air. The element of Air is all about mental energies: thinking, rationalizing, deducting, and concluding. Air is about ideas and innovation. It’s about the sciences and philosophical questions and deep ponderings of life. Gemini, however, is the Air sign that is most associated with communication, speaking and expression of ideas and thoughts. In fact, the chakra – or the traditional energy center – that is most associated with Gemini is the throat chakra. This is the part of your body located in, of course, your throat. Your throat chakra is responsible for self-expression, for communication and for speaking your truth. This is a very important and powerful energy center that can do a great deal of benefit and healing to your body and your life, or can be a destructive weapon that harms others and yourself.
This New Moon in Gemini, we are exploring the amazing power of our words to build, create, heal and also to destroy, harm and create chaos. When we look back at the long litany of our folklore and myths, and our spiritual and religious traditions, we see time and time again the word (both spoken aloud and written). As children, if you absorbed as many fairytales as I have either through reading or having them read to you, you know that there were countless tales in which a spoken incantation changed the trajectory of the story. Evil queens and villainous witches and warlocks would often recite aloud an incantation to create a curse.
Alternatively, the princess or prince or hero or heroine would often recite aloud an incantation to give them great power, often transforming them into something greater, stronger and more powerful than they were before. Though these tales are now relegated to the area of childhood entertainment, they were began as allegories and tales for adults, rich with evocative imagery and themes to make a point and teach a lesson. The power of words, from the earliest times, predates the time of the written alphabet. This is a wise truth that became evident from the earliest times of prehistory and is still very much a truth to this day.
When we look at our spiritual and religious practices today, thousands and thousands of years later in the very modern world, we see that the power of the word is no fairy tale, but is in fact a potent, powerful tool for creation, power and destruction.
Every great spiritual teacher will tell you the importance of watching what you say. Words are like swords (even the letters are the same!), and as such they can be incredible tools towards victory when used deliberately with intention, or can cut or even destroy you when wielded irresponsibly. The spoken and the written word are the simplest and most straightforward type of spellcraft, prayers, mantras, hymns, petitions and novenas. Every religious and spiritual path includes powerful texts for recitation to invoke any and every desirable outcome. It is understood that if you desire change and transformation – whether that be healing, knowledge, desire for wealth, desire for love – speaking words of power is a potent way to bring about your desired change in your life.
The throat chakra resides in an interesting place in your body. It is housed right between the head and the heart. In many ways, the throat is a pathway from the mind (where thoughts originate and analyzing and deciding occurs) to the heart, where deep belief occurs. Your heart chakra is arguably the most powerful chakra in your body, though it cannot do its power all alone. It needs support from the other chakras. Your throat chakra is a vitally important energy gate that lets your heart chakra do its work. And the throat chakra’s currency is words.
In order to really understand how powerful words are, I want to talk about two very important earthly manifesting energies: belief and expectation. Belief is what you know to be true. Expectation is what you know will manifest. When you believe with all your heart, and expect with all your heart, the rest of the world will rearrange itself to fit your belief and expectation. People, situations and yes even material matter will arrange and re-arrange in your life to bring about your desires. It’s cosmic law. And one of the most powerful ways to create belief and instill expectation is through your words. Hell, even the government has caught on to this fact. Why do you think the pledge of allegiance is required to be recited aloud daily as a child? They understand the correlation between speaking words, believing them to be true and having it become true. They understand that you speaking the words of allegiance is likely to actually make you so in time.
Now, there is more than one way to view what is happening here. We have just spoken about an energetic way to see how our words have manifesting power, through the chakras. However, mainstream psychology can also show this same thing, when we view it through the lens of the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is the part of your mind that is responsible for reasoning and analytical thought. It is very small and very new in evolutionary terms. This is the part of your mind that weighs things and decides what is true, what is wanted and what is good. You are not born with your conscious mind. It develops after several years of human growth. Your subconscious mind, on the other hand, is the part of your brain that is responsible for everything else. It is the oldest part of your brain in evolutionary terms. You are born with a subconscious mind. This part of your mind houses your deepest desires, your deepest fears and all of the programming and ability in your entire body, including things that are not yet understood by mainstream science. The heart beat that keeps you alive? Subconscious mind. The hormones that automatically blend and turn on and off to grow your body, produce your menstrual cycle, breastmilk, masculine beard and growth? Subconscious mind. Your dreams and nightmares? Subconscious mind. Your intuition and psychic ability? Subconscious mind.
And what is the relationship between the two? Your conscious mind, as small and new as it is, is the boss of your subconscious mind. In essence, you have your small analytical part of your brain commanding the vast and immense army of your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind is the boss, but your subconscious mind is the might and the force by which all things can be done and all gates opened to you. When you speak words, especially with repetition, they can sow the seeds of belief and expectation deep into your subconscious mind, thus allowing your subconscious mind to grow and Ok, chakras and mind compartments are two different ways to understand the same things: your words have immense power to unlock your human potential.
The magical ability of speaking things into existence is actually something that you do quite a lot. Unfortunately it is often done in ignorance, giving power and prominence to your negative and destructive words. For example, how often do you say things that put yourself down? How often do you say things that you don’t want to be true, either because being self-deprecating paints you as non-threatening and likeable to others, OR simply because that’s what you have been comfortable saying your whole life? Do you find yourself saying things like the following or a variation of the following:
“I’m so stupid!”
“Oh of course; I’m such a dumbass!”
“Things never work out for me.”
“Of course things aren’t going well for me. That’s the story of my life.”
“I can’t find love.”
“All the good men are taken.”
“All the good women are taken.”
“I can’t find a good job to save my life.”
“I’m soo fat/ugly/dumb/unlucky/fill-in-the-blank.”
Now, it doesn’t matter if these things are spoken in jest, or simply because you want to fit it. Spiritual and even psychological wisdom tells us that when we repeat things repeatedly, they begin to take root in our hearts as belief. And when that happens, we can start to expect things to actually be true. And when that happens, we can see these things manifest in our reality.
So…are you manifesting unwanted outcomes with your words? Now is the time to stop that and start manifesting what you want, what you crave and what you desire with your whole heart!
This New Moon in Gemini, I want you to become conscious of the words you use and their role in creating your reality. Are you speaking harmful words that paint a picture that is unwanted? Or are you using words that are crafting your ideal future? Your words are power. Now is the time to harness them for victory, happiness, wealth, joy and love.
From this moment on, at LEAST for the next 30 days, but hopefully for the rest of your life, I want you to monitor your words, especially the words that you say to yourself. Understand and respect the truth that what passes through your throat bridges the gap between your mind and your heart, and in other words bridges the gap between your conscious mind and your all-powerful subconscious mind.
It is important to speak the truth of what you want to manifest. For at least the next 30 days but hopefully from now onwards, I want you to take the following steps when it comes to the power of your words.
“I am easily earning X amount of money per month.”
“I am in a loving, romantic relationship.”
“I am happy and healthy.”
“I am a successful ___.”
One thing you do NOT want to do is put emphasis on what you don’t want. Your subconscious mind and your heart are not the thinkers. They are the feelers, and only know that if you feed emphasis on something, regardless of whether you want it or not, you will become tied up in your beliefs. For example, if you are sick and want to be well, say the words, “I am perfect health,” or “I have perfect health.” DO NOT say, “I am not sick,” because by doing so you are still placing energetic emphasis on the word and concept of sickness and being sick. So that’s a no-no.
So once you have your affirmative statement, repeat this to yourself frequently. State them to yourself in the morning and again before you go to bed. Ten times. Even better, if possible, recite them while looking yourself in the eye in the mirror. THIS will show you if you truly believe it or not. You may have a hard time holding your own gaze at first, but over time, you will find that you can say it to yourself with conviction, which means its taking root in your subconscious mind and your heart and you are starting to accept and believe it, which will cause you to expect it, which will cause you to see it manifested in reality. This is where action comes in. When you believe something- actually believe it – you will act in such a way to bring it to fruition. For example, if you are sick and you start to tell yourself, “I am perfect health,” and you become a believer of that statement, you will act in a way that mirrors your belief. You will make better health decisions, such as eating more fresh vegetables, getting up a few minutes early to do express workouts, etc. All of these things – your spoken words, your little actions to increase your beliefs, your little actions that come as a result of your increasing belief, and your expectations – will all work holistically to shift matter and create healing of your mind and body, resulting in health.
So keep devoting yourself to speaking what you want to see. Do this for at least the next month. Keep it up, and you will see amazing changes in your life!
